How to Transition Summer Prints to Fall

How to Transition Summer Prints to Fall

Hey ITC Readers!

How many of you are getting excited for blanket scarves, fireplaces, hot chocolate, and jeans? And how many of you are getting hot just thinking about those things because it’s still venturing into the 90’s where you live?

That’s where I’m at. So, I’m slowly transitioning into the rich colors and materials of fall, while still making the most of my summer pieces (this has been a huge topic on my blog lately, so check out recent posts for more ideas!).

Today I am sharing my favorite skirt from this summer. I got this gorgeous skirt from Ann Taylor. I loved this garden print as soon as it came out in spring, but waited to buy it until it went on clearance. I love a good deal so this I’m often buying things at the end of the season with not much time to wear them until the next year.

To make your summer prints work for fall, pair with darker colors and fall accessories. Here, the maroon works well to pull out some of the darker tones in the skirt. Find a color that works well with the colors in your pattern to make those more fall-appropriate colors jump out. Then, go with closed toe shoes and a rich deep bag. I am obsessed with these Style & Co pumps with the metallic toe! They were a thredUp find (more about that here) and were only $10 but will be making a lot of appearances in the coming months!

Gorgeous colors! I would totally wear this with a jean jacket or even a moto since it’s so feminine! Love it!
